On the subject of "Letting Go", one of the most important things to let go of are the stories we tell ourselves about how flexible we are, how strong we are, what we are capable of doing and not capable of doing. We approach our Yoga Mat already "knowing" what we can and can't do. As a Yoga teacher, part of my job is to coax people out of that "knowing" and approach each trip to the Mat as a new adventure.
Once we've learned to drop the limitations on our Yoga Mat, the next step is to drop the same kind of limitations in Life. Let go of the stories about how smart we are, how successful we are, what we are capable of doing and not capable of doing. We learn to drop the "knowing" what we can and can't do. We start each new day as a whole new adventure.
And most important ... Letting go of the stories Someone told us ... those negative "knowings", those limitations, that Someone planted in our minds ... maybe a long time ago ... and they replay in our minds constantly. Let go of those!!! Getting that negative chatter out of our minds makes quiet space to grow in and opens the doors to new adventure.
